The Malika of Cups sits, in bliss, in her private courtyard surrounded by beautiful peacocks, and the gentle, meditative sound of a small fountain. Her hands and face are facing upwards, in an attitude of Divine worship. She is in the moment.

Cups represent the element of water, which in turn corresponds to emotions and intuition. The Tarot Queens also represent the water element, and the Queen of Cups is the queen of those qualities, Water of Water. She is guided by her heart, empathy, and her psychic awareness. Malika (Queen) of Cups… meet the Dervish (Hermit IX)

Our general card for the year is The Hermit IX², represented in this beautiful deck by the Dervish. The combination of these two cards offers us energies reflecting deep internal reflection, and transformation, throughout March.

As I look at these images, I see both figures looking upwards, connecting with Divine spirit; emotionally and intuitively, in the case of Malika, and at a fundamental soul wisdom level with the Dervish. For us, the insights supported by this combination of cards imply a time of deep meditation, reflection, and respecting our intuition, that will be a key part of our growth this year.
