I hope your July is more temperate than mine? 🥵
Here, in Spain, we are experiencing 41°C (106°F) day in, day out, along with 60% humidity some days. This combination apparently works out at ‘feels like’ 54°C… which is kinda debilitating, and certainly not conducive to the writing up, and production of a carefully thought-through Tarot reading!
So today, I have decided to lighten up with a fun post, instead of bending my brain around any one of the 30 complex philosophical, psychological conundrums shouting, “me… me… ME!” from my Drafts folder. I also enjoy posting for fun every now and then, too… in that spirit… with a sweaty keyboard…
Let’s Tarot…
Position 1 - Why are we having a heatwave? - Six of Cups
Look at those poor pussycats wrapped up so warmly over their beautiful fur coats, it must be so cold there… a bit like Spring was here! 🥶
I can just see Artemis, Goddess of wild animals, with a sad catch in her breath, deciding that enough is enough, and stomping into Zeus’ office demanding that he turns up the temperature knob, finally switching on Summer, and restoring those pussycats to curled-up, sleepy warmth!
Caught a little by surprise, Zeus reacted quickly, turning the volume knob up to 11 to make up for lost time, taking us from 18°C to 38°C in just one week! The relief after our cold, wet Spring was palpable, reminding us of those balmy Summer days of childhood until… it wasn’t… the volume is still jammed at 11… 🥵
Position 2 - What do I need to do in order to fix it? - Seven of Cups
Clearly I need take some time out for some blue-sky thinking, and consider my options… 🤔
Right then, I’m convinced a fire-breathing dragon will surely make the situation worse, so there’s no help there… a playful grey kitten, will surely cause chaos (involving lots of running around picking up broken ornaments!) so I’ll need to keep it busy… eating the multi-coloured cat treats!!! Which leaves me with…
The snake representing transformation… There IS a solution I CAN fix this! What if… I hide in the Castle (a castle will surely to be air-conditioned, won’t it!) and cover it with the bright white cloth to reflect the heat… whilst rubbing myself all over with anti-inflammatory laurel leaves… hmmm... I’m on to something here…
Or…
I could simply empty those seven Cups, fill them with iced-drinks, and sip from them to cool down… 🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸🍸
Position 3 - What should I avoid doing right now? - Five of Wands
Crowds! Avoid, crowds, especially the bad-tempered, hot and fur-covered type, brandishing big sticks… 😾
This one is a no-brainer… 👍🏼
Position 4 - How will our new air conditioner help? - X·Wheel of Fortune
On Wednesday, 23rd July, at 07:30am, our first ever AIR CONDITIONING UNIT will be delivered and installed… ✌🏽
This the only major arcana card in this spread, so we need to heed its message carefully... Subliminally, the main image that comes to mind here is an industrial-sized rotary fan… spinning… swinging… cooling… happiness… cooling… moving air… did I mention cooling?… ahhhh… ❄️
Focussing more closely on the complex imagery, there are four yellow (for intellect) Cats, one in each corner, studying air-con unit instruction manuals (the sphinxed grey cat on the top of the wheel hints at hieroglyphic instructions 𐦊𓀄𓀿… hmmm…) could it be the installation will just go round in circles?
The snake has found its way across from the 7 of Cups… <phew>… E x c e p t… he’s… kind of… pointing downwards… and, if I’m honest, the cat at the bottom of the wheel looks really hot 🥵 Praying for good luck now, because this old house offers lots of potential complications during installation… 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Mantra: It’s going to be cool… It’s going to be cool… It’s going to be cool… It’s going to be cool… (at least by about 14:00 on Wednesday! 😀)…
Arithmancy and Elementals…
OK… here’s the numbers…
6 + 7 + 5 + (10 = 1 + 0) 1 = 19 = 10 = 1
Well, who’d have thunk it 😂 the numerology of this reading points us to XIX·The Sun!!! The Lord of the Fire of the World. One of the most fabulous cards in a Tarot deck, life-giving, joy-bringing, and source of warmth… Warmth??? Seriously??? 41°C!!! You call that ‘warmth’??? It's too ******* HOT!!! 🥵
Beneath the outer numerological shell of XIX·The Sun, we find the inner shell of X·The Wheel of Fortune, The Lord of the Forces of Life, pointing me towards the obvious conclusion, that if you choose to move to S E Spain, you have to accept that temperatures can go up as well as down… 🌡️
In the centre of these numerologically nested cards we find I·The Magician, The Magus of Power… the master manipulator of our material world, the trickster, Hermes… hang on… I’ve been blaming Zeus… could it be… 🤔 Is Hermes the one manipulating the weather? Or… is it someone else…? 🤫
Elementally, the spread is composed of 2 Water energy cards (Cups) and 2 Fire energies (Wands and X·The Wheel of Fortune)… and, of course, when we combine these energies we get steam, humidity, sweaty armpits, sweaty everywhere, bad-tempers, impatience, <phew>… thank goodness I’m not like that!
And… another thing… the fire energy is ramped-up in the arythmancy, by XIX·The Sun and X·The Wheel of Fortune, all fuelled by the Air energy of I·The Magician… how is THAT fair? Huh??? 🥵
Conclusions…
Did I say we’re having an air conditioning unit fitted on Wednesday? Did I mention that already? Did I? Did I also mention that after weeks of these baking temperatures Thursday will deliver a temperature drop with rain? No??? 🤣😂🤣
There is even the possibility that Zeus will break out a few thunderbolts on Thursday for a practice session on Spain, too! Trust me, if that doesn’t sort things out, it’s a very shirty WhatsApp to Hermes! 📱
